Skincare Routine for Rainy Season: Oily Skin Type

People with oily skin type suffer during the rainy season as hot and humid climate causes excess oil production which may lead to further skin irritation. How should you prevent your facial skin from evolving to problematic skin due to excess oil production? To prevent that, it is recommended to begin your skincare ritual with facial cleansing step as it helps to keep your skin clean and refreshed while turning your oily skin into a glowing dewy glow.

Step 1: Moderate Cleansing

Over-cleansing increases sebum production and may cause your skin to roughen in due time. It is recommended to cleanse your face not more than thrice a day using an enzyme cleansing product which is suitable for oily skin type. A good facial cleanser does deep skin cleansing with its rich foaming properties; and it refreshes your skin without any feeling of lingering tightness nor dryness.

Step 2: Rinsing with Lukewarm Water

Suitable water temperature is the basic but often overlooked step when it comes to washing your face. When rinsing your face, you should go for lukewarm or warm water that is not too hot or cold so it may not irritate your skin but remove the daily grime instead while effectively preserve your skin’s natural hydrating oils.

Step 3: Consistent Gentle Exfoliation

Oily skin has the tendency to secrete sebum actively during the rainy season. Therefore, it is recommended to gently exfoliate your skin 1-2 times a week to remove the accumulated dirt and dead skin cells on the skin surface while keeping your skin fresh and pores unclogged.
